RDA – Riding for the Disabled
RDA Welcome
Field View Equestrian C.I.C. was awarded its Riding for the Disabled Accessibility Mark Accreditation in 2017. Field View Equestrian has been working with children from St Anne’s school since 2016, the school have been bringing groups of children each week for riding lessons.
RDA Main Body
The work with these children with special educational needs was one of the inspirations behind the centre applying for the RDA Accessibility Mark Scheme. Riding for the Disabled Association, in partnership with the British Equestrian Federation’s participation programme, launched the Accessibility Mark scheme to work with commercial riding centres with the aim of getting more disabled people to participate in riding. Meeting all of the criteria set out by the RDA to become approved as an Accessibility Mark centre reaffirms the work that Field View Equestrian C.I.C. were already doing with the groups from St Anne’s School.
The training and support provided by the RDA helps to ensure that the lessons provided to disabled riders are constructive and enjoyable. As an accredited RDA Accessibility Mark Centre we are looking forward to being able to expand our services to offer horse riding sessions for more schools in the area & people of all ages with a variety of disabilities, giving them the opportunity to experience the many benefits of horse riding for both mental and physical well-being.
RDA lessons are available during the daytime Monday-Friday between 9.30am & 3.30pm. Lessons are also available some Sundays, please see our calendar of events for dates of Sunday Riding Lessons.
